rallydallas (P) dump the auto, while you are there. Lets find a yard and get you a full m46 swap. Its not the best tranny, but its an easy swap and you will enjoy your car x1000 and don't rush the paint. ratrodvolvo ftw :-D Zhenya |

Hehehe so true! Very rat rod! Hey I like my auto--it makes me the "hole-shot ninja" at lights; muahaha Besides, for turbo manual action I have my subaru
For more fun all I need is a rebuilt turbo and a ring job.. I think. RD  |

If you get the turbo done use Majestic turbo in Dallas. I cannot recommend them enough. Nick |

Why not just do a T5 swap? Probably around the same price?? Looks like a fun project though! |

No, it would cost quite a bit more to do a T5 swap and it takes some fab work. Besides a T5 is crap anyways....why everyone thinks they are good I have no idea. T56 or go home. If you want a 5 speed get a real Tremec. |

So like I said, re-torque'ed the RH rear Bilstein. No more mega clunk! Yay, shoulda done that a while ago.. Also dug out a torque wrench, but didn't use it for that ![]() Not sure if I'm going to attempt to get the AC functioning again (for Summer).. I'd prolly have to do a R134 conv and also a bigger-condensor upgrade on it.. Found a conversion kit for like $87 on one of those "OEM part for everything" sites.. Boy do I need a new headliner! RD |

R134 conversions suck unless you convert the ENTIRE system- pricey. Fill it with Freeze 12. Like $15 a can and works just as well. Nick |

Fyi, replaced alternator rectifier today with part no 1197311028 (Bosch) from Alternator Service Inc. (http://alternatorservice.com) 2350 W. Commerce St., Dallas, TX 76212, 214-630-6771 . Cost $29.97 ($27.69)... I got the only one in stock, hopefully they get more.
Symptoms: fluctuating voltage depending on RPM, would dip below 12V at idle, sometimes go to almost 15V at RPM, and also a scraping/spinning noise from engine bay. No comments necessary, just stating a fact.RD |

Car is curbed for the moment. Doh! Discovered a gas leak from the main fuel pump. Would have ordered one today from FCP Groton (they seem to have the better/more stable pricing) but they were "sorry for the inconvenience" of their being closed today. Bad timing! Looks like it will be a week. Bah! RD |

Fuel pump and filter installed! Strange thing is, though, there's still a tiny micro leak between the two.. Hmm. I'll have to take it apart again and either get new copper washers or torque the heck out of it.

Still rollin. The other day I noticed a nasty leak @ cyl #1's injector seal. Weird. Just undid the whole rail, pulled #1 and 2 up a bit and rammed them back in. Seems happy now. Probably all the cold weather? The door seals are really bad on this thing these days, at some point I guess I'll want to get new ones. (Same on the 945, they're just starting to get dry, sort-of.)
