OK, I've taken my V8 to a few meets and it's always a crowd pleaser. It took a year to build and I was jonesing big time for a Brick to drive (my daughter inherited my 245!). I ended up buying the brown car as a d/d and was hoping it would hold together until the V8 was finished. Most of the improvements are not terribly noticible...browntop injectors from a turbo T-Bird, 4 bar pressure regulator, IPD turbo cam and adjustable cam gear set 5 degrees advanced, water/meth injection, e-fan conversion (yes, they really did used to run on something called a V-belt! The 84 760 Tic is the only Volvo to receive the B23ft motor. Forged internals make it the engine of choice. I rebuilt the turbo, added compsite head lamps, IPD sway bars, 3" full exhaust, performance chip...all in my spare time as the V8 was being built. I currently am running an accumulator lock up in the AW71 transmission that let's me bark the tires most anytime. 18 psi boost is my max but I generally only run 14 around town. No lsd rear, but my right rear tire has left 175' of rubber...Anyways...it will smoke a stock 5.0 and absolutely spanks the Ricers!
These first pics are the day I had it towed in after buying it for 200 bucks...owner thought the engine was blown...wrong!

Yeah, it's 3" from turbo to tail...put the glass pack as a resonator because it sounded like doo doo w/o it, IMHO. At the paint shop now...

Definitely! This guy has a private shop where he paints one car at a time after his day job. It takes a little longer, but it's a little cheaper too! And...he's a perfectionist so that's really cool. The main thing is to get the cheap clear coat job completely off. They even taped off the pinstripes when they clear coated the car. When I popped the fender emblems off to put the side marker lights on...there was a rectangle of non- clear coated metal...a really cheap, fast non-skid, orange peeled job. I really miss the car...driving my V8 every to work is no fun. This summer my daughter's buying a car so I'll get my 245 back...getting it back in shape will be a chore. But fun too!

Well, the first of 5 coats of final color went on today. With any luck, he'll shoot the spoiler and front lower valance/spoiler tomorrow, put her back together Tuesday and I'll have her Wednesday...just in time for the meet!

Here's Ray putting some serious mojo/voodoo moves on the paint!

These shots are after two coats:

Ray's a perfectionist...this is a single stage paint job...but he'll shoot almost an entire gallon of paint...That way, small scratches can buff out rather than be re-painted...

Well, I took the 760 to the meet but it was missing the trunk and chin spoilers...got painted the wrong color somehow. Here's some pics I took today after installing my e-codes. The car is filthy...but you get the idea.
Here's the old parking lot official picture taking place:

I think it looks more like the color of a Shinner Bock poured in a frosty mug. :D
The metallic paint resembles the carbonation.......

Hmm, do I see a theme here?

Well, I've been running the Hydras w/ BF Goodrich GT Sport summer tires...really hard compound so I switched to my 15s with Cumhos just for the GTG this past weekend. Cumhos...cheap, noisy, smelly!!! And leave lots of rubber on the road!! Finally went thru with my threat; swapped the Hydras back onto the Vobra and put the Voxx MGR's on the brown car...surprisingly, no pics yet. The Sumitomos are 45's and make the brown handle way better...but the 17's make it even more obvious the car isn't lowered. Maybe I'll swap 'em onto the wagon when it's done....hmmm.

Everything I own is for sale...at some price!! You want the whole set up so it's drop in, or just the 4 lamps?
Here's a pic of the 760 with the Voxx MGR 17's...........................

Well, I've come full circle with my 84. Originally purchased as a daily beater while the Vobra was being created, I couldn't help "tweaking" this car. It's the only Volvo I have that hasn't had the motor built from the ground up. It has 173k real documented miles on her and still runs great! But, I have to make room for the next project. Because I'll never get the money that the car is worth, I've been swapping out all the goodies for stock stuff this weekend and today. Decklan, I guess your Dad was the last to drive her in top form. I've pulled the single e-codes, snow scoop, sun roof visor, mbc, IPD sways, meth injection, side markers, Kenwood head unit. Tomorrow, I'll pull the IPD cam and adjustable cam gear. I'm also pulling the chin spoiler and fogs. I'd pull the trunk spoiler but I shot it in with screws. Hmmm...I DO have some touch up paint...Soon the car will go on CL...really sad to let that B23FT go. But, I gotta let something go or I'll never be able to have another project. It's the same reason I've never bred dogs...I wouldn't be able to let ANY of the pups go...before you know it I'd have 20-30 dogs!
It's been a great car for me and a source of a lot of fun. The group drive outside of Palmer...the burn outs at Decklans...countless stoplight to stoplight mini street races. Oh well... :(

No question, the larger single lights rule. Not only do they produce more light, they make the car look newer like the 90+'s.
