Doing What I Want for a Long Time, AND nothing better to do
Here is my dd and Dog Mobile.
I've done just about everything to the car short of slapping on a turbo. It has VX cam advanced 5 deg with IPD adj cam gear, 4 bar FPR, 16 V injectors, coil and ignition, Magnecor wires, K&N filter, air box and intake mods, custom 2 1/2 inch exhaust with 'header' pipe mod, 16" Carsound cat, Volvo Turbo muffler, and Monza resonator tip.
Also, Orion 15 x 7 wheels, Bridgestone Potenza RE 960 Pole Position 215/60-15 tires, IPD 25/25 mm sways, Bilsteins, Leigsfors (242 GT) springs, GT upper & lower braces, Strut mt braces, new Volvo bushings all around except sway bar links and IPD adj panhard rod, oil cooler, engine stabilizer, 940 E-fan conversion, sst brake lines, Brembo fr discs, pbr metal pads, upgrades Delco in-tank pre-pump, new(used) fuel tank, new steering rack, ball joints, tie rods, drive shaft, shifter linkage, Volvo digital ambient temp gage, large tach, seats, carpets, center arm rest, E-Codes, factory fogs.
To top it off, a Kenwood stereo, 10 disc CD changer, Eclipse 5 1/2 up front, Kenwood 4" in back, and Alpine 6x9's in boxes on 20 ft Monster cable powered by a Phoenix gold 200w amp.
This car goes just about everywhere. I drive it more than 30k mi/year. It is fun to drive and still racks up 30 mpg.

Thanks.
Ozzie, short for Oswald, "Keeper of the Forest" is a purebred Great Pyrenees, 140 lbs of gentle puppy.
He loves that car. Every time I start it up, he cries, "Lemmie go with ya!"

Last weekend he said "Dooon't cut the grass, doon't do the dishes! Take me to the Lake for a swim, now!" So I did.

Some shots of the Blue 245, aka Dogmobile

I went to Austin on business this week, so the dog couldn't go, but I had to take a minute to enjoy Austin's Lake Travis, one of my favorite spots in TX, and a great photo-op!

I settled into a chair in hte shade, some good tunes and a cooler of brewski's after a long swim:

No Dinkels at Travis. just cheap beer. I prefer the watery stuff for a hot day at the lake, it was 101 deg. that day.
Oz got his day aththe lake yesterday. Lucy brought her lab and we sippped some Wursteiner's together. :)

Ozzie's pissed.

Well not much posted in a while on the Dog Mobile
I put a lot of work into the 245 over the somemer, FIXED the A/C!!!, clutch, trans refurbish, fuel pump, odometer gear cleaned up the interior and a gave it a good wax.

It was running, looking fine.

Then I ran into a Jag, crunched the front fender, left headlight.
The 17 yr old kid driving it was a look-alike for 'Erkle' and I'd seen him in this nice S-Type Jag a few weeks ago, driving it 20 mph in a 45 zone, looking like he was petrified scared he's scratch it, and I thought to myself, damn, that's an accident waiting to happen.
Then I came over a rise in a 55 zone the other night, there he was, doing 20, and couldn't avoid him. Smash :(

Oz doesn't get to go to the lake for a while.

It's all apart now, need a fender and front clip. Any one got parts?

I got the inner fender banged out, and is ready to hang a new fender & front clip. I just have to find a good set still.
The sheet metal work wasn't too bad, took 2 hrs of hammering with the right tools. There was some prior damage from before I bought the car, so it was in need of the clip and some metal work, anyway.
I did find a spare e-code lens, has a small chip in it, but the bucket & reflector are OK and can put it back together without buying a whole new lamp assembly. I'll use the OEM parking light i have, too.

It'll need paint, which comes next.

Damn Pete...might as well slap a turbo on there while you got her opened up! So, you hit Erkle from behind? Was it chargeable? Or did you just give him a six pack of Dinkle and call it good. Was Oz w/ you...? Was he driving? Tell the truth! We all know Oz shares the driving with you on road trips!!

That's him!!!!
The kid looked just like that, all 4 eyes! It was an '05 S-Type

I had it apart the next day. I borrowed some body tools on Sat and began hammering.......

I have to say that the last time I did front body work was a '68 144 front clip, and the metal on the 240 is soft as cream cheese by comparison. It was easy.

No Turbo. I like it like the nice N/A cruiser that it is. I already have a turbo (made by Volvo) and if I get another turbo Volvo it'll be one from the factory as supplied. I've actually been scouting for a late 945T to use until I get the 245 back on the road. But then I'd be driving a turbo that has less balls than my 245.....but still, I need something with vinyl upholstery for the dog slime.

Naw, Oz wasn't in the car, I was on the way to the grocery store to get dog food......no six packs.

The cop didn't issue any tickets, he spoke to the kid who admitted he was going really slow, but said that if we didn't work it out between ourselves, I could submit a grievance with the PD and they would investigate and possibly issue him an Obstruction of Traffic ticket, which would find him liable.

Doing What I Want for a Long Time, AND nothing better to do
Here we go again.
There's that difference of 300 lbs between the two cars, the low compression T which needs to be throttled too much to say it's practically any more hp at normal cruising rpm's, and that my 245 is not stock, has way more torque than stock at lower rpm's, and this adds to a feel of driving that a 700/900t that feels like a pig on then road in comparison with a enhanced n/a high compression 240. I just don't buy it, unless you always make your comparison's at 5000 rpm's. I've had 4 or 5 700ti's and stopped driving them because they just don't do it for me. It's this reason why I have a V70 2.5T and not a V70 T5. The LPT high comp motor is a better one IMHO.
If I find a well kept 900T, I might just get it, especially if I find that rare B230FB with a LPT and high(er) compression. I think they were only brought into the US in '95, but they do exist.
