I haven't been to the gym in about 2 months since I hurt my back. Chiropractor/Physical Therapist says I'm almost ready to go back. I've been doing prescribed back workouts for the last 2 months and I'm just now feeling better without pain. Before getting hurt, i was putting in 5-6 days a week with 30 minute cardio and 1-1.5hr weight lifting. Got tired of my flabby gut and wanted to get off my ass and put some work in.

America is getting more and more obese, what are you doing about it for yourself/family? What do you guys do? What's your regiment, routine and diet consist of? Maybe even give tips/tricks on things you do at work or while watching TV to keep yourself in shape.

well i wish i still had access to a gym, memberships charge you out the ass.. but anyways some things i like to do at home while watching TV or any spare time is just doing some curls or reps with some free weights any activity that gets your heart rate up is good.. its hard to substitute a gym but there are many things you can to that are comparable to the gym such as running around your neighborhood

I used to hit the gym 3 days a week EVERY week for about an hour. Since moving home, I haven't gone but twice. Sad.

I have been riding my bike lately though. I need to find a new gym stat. I'm starting to get that college gut. Ugh...

I eat like a pig, don't exercise on purpose, and don't gain any weight. WTF? I walk about 15 miles a week between work and school though...

I recently picked up an interest in Bodybuilding although I'm nowhere near what the name brings to mind. Just a beginner. Since, in my opinion, there's nothing to friggin' do in Corpus Christi, I work out at the crappy gym that my apartment has making the most of what I already pay for. Anyone else on a routine? I got the book 21st Century Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding: The complete A-Z Book On Muscle Building by Robert Kennedy and it's pretty good, helpful indeed. It's like it says, howto get started, move on up to intermediate and higher level workouts or weight training. I have a routine I follow right now since I'm still a beginner. Mondays I do chest and triceps, tuesdays I do legs. Wednesday I take a day off. Thursday I do back and biceps and Friday I do shoulders, traps and abs (quite a bit for one workout). Then the weekend I take off. I take two supplements too Fusion Quest and Myozene from Bioquest and buy them online from prosource seeing as how GNC doesn't have that brand and it's probably a ton more expensive. I guess my hobby right now is weight lifting, pretty cheap and easy and I think healthier than just sitting around. Anyone ride a bike or walk on trails? I would if we had trails here..At least you guys don't live in a small town.

You're by the effin beach, get ripped and go jog in front of the pretty ladies

I was on a routine until I hurt my back and discovered there was a 9mm protrusion in one of my lower discs. Pain has gone away, but that's what I thought last time and got over anxious to get back into the gym and hurt it again. I think I'm about ready to get back into real soon, but need to focus on building my secondaries, especially my lower back to protect it first, before I go back to my main routine, 1 hour cardio 5 days a week, followed by 1 hr free weight lifting and abs

I use to love the beach as a kid, now I just don't really care anymore about it. Corpus Christi beaches aren't that good either, at least not compared to South Padre Island near Brownsville. Just don't realy care much for the beach anymore. Now that I'm married and my wife hates the wind and isn't much for humidity, I'm kinda limited with what I can do. Not much for running either...When you got back to working out had you been out of the habit for a little while? This may be obvious but you can't expect to pick up where you left off when you quit from the pain. Lower back indeed, I need to do more of that too but the little gym at my apartment, nothing really conducive to lower back. Cardio...probably my least favorite thing.

eh cardio is ok for me because the gym that i'm at has a TV on every machine so i'll put on something good put on my headphones and run. by the time my show or movie is over the time has flown.

no i wasn't foolish enough to pick up where i left off, i backed everything back by 75% to try and work myself back up. it wasn't working out that was completely to blame tho, it was my birthday weekend and one of my activities was a nice couple of rounds of go-karting which got a little physical

:D Go Karts! Sounds like fun times. Sometimes I feel like playing "go-karts" around here with some of the other drivers. Makes me wish I had a huge heavy truck with two conical spikes about 2 feet long on the front and rear bumpers. :wall:
