I'm thinking of buying another Glock 23C. Maybe sand the slide and make it 2 tone. But before buying a new gun, anyone have a suggestion for a nice compact semi-automatic .40 or .45 cal? I'd perfer an internal saftey, but i can live with external.

Oh, i've also considered taking up skeet shooting. Anyone here skeet shoot?

Eff that! BTW my mom is more of a bad ass than you.

She (as well as my dad) just picked up a solid black .357 S&W. It is SOOOO bad ass. I'm jealous.

Well, if you're carrying for self defense, I've always preferred the .45. Unless you're a reloader, there's a lot more choices in .45. The .40SW is a 'tweener round; less rounds than a 9...less shock value than a .45. Also, typically, the .45 leaves the gun "softer" meaning more accurate second shots. Not that it matters much; self defense shootings are typically less than 6 feet. I carried a Detonics 45 for years...only 6+1 but that's whats cool about clips!

I'd still like to get a 75-SP01 for myself. What is so wrong with 9mm? Everyone always scoffs at it.

i've carried a 92F around for a while, and honestly at the range ill group my 23c way better then i have with the 92f. plus the 92f felt so not confident in my hands. besides why go 9mm when i can go .45? i can deal with less mag carry, but it's got to be compact enough to not feel in the way, but big enough that im not flicking the slide lock by accident. lets put it this way, anyone and everyone can call me a bandwagon rider, but my 23c has seen countless rounds down range, cleaned rarely, but i know i could fall into galveston bay, trip on the beach and still put a round into a perp without hesitation. i just feel like being sold on something new, but i haven't had anything envoke confidence for me to get it.

gotta watch your hand when you fire it though. It doesn't have the "duckbill" on the grip, so it comes back and knocks the shit out of your hand.

Nah.... get a 10mm, you know how we do it. lol..

By the way Jon, I went to Carter's Country today... OMG! I'm blowing a pay check there!! Dude, I finally I'm getting Lily the baby Beretta and I'm shooting to get an AR-15 now that I miss mine :( ....

But yeah, I'm looking into another 9mm (anything) for practice, 40 for travel and in / out city drive / 10mm for home protection.

Lastly, Bill mentioned that he's picking up that AK47 at Fountain, I'm getting a Czech one so we'll be shooting that one next.
