My car is bone stock, but as you guys are all aware, it owns the road. I bought this car about six months ago and its the closest thing to a race car i have owned, next to my old 88 5.0. But if you factor in the suspension/handling, it wins hands down. I don't see many Rs around town, I believe i have only run into about two my entire life. My wife drives a s60 2004 as well, non turbo, but i remember when we bought the thing in 2004, the R sitting on the showroom floor at Volvo of Houston. I always thought, man that looks fast and sexy. Little did I know one day i would find my own. There is a lot i have been reading lately about after market goodies, IPD and Evolve. It seems this is the perfect daily driver car to fine tune. I see out on the road, like the TLs, 3 series, audis and others in the same class, seem a little taken back by the speed and performance of the R. They think its a Volvo, built for safety. Man are they wrong. So Erik you live in Cypress as well. You drive an R? I live in Copper Grove neighborhood off Huffmeister and Hwy6.

First my car seems to top out at 130, wtf, i thought it would be 155. I did buy the car from a guy in Calif and i was wondering if it is part of the Calif emissions messing me up. Second, when it rains, i have a high pitch squeal coming out from the bottom of my car, only when it rains. The dealer said it was a problem with the R, that the driveshaft is too close to the exhaust and it emits a squeal when wet. It is a deafening problem. Even the R's stereo can't tune it out.

I didn't realize they were limited that low. I can hit 140+. The squealing sounds about right...Volvo AWD fail...
