I had lots of fun in the snow on thursday. Didn't slam any cars or curbs. RWD forever!!! :P here's a little clip of us f'in around in the parking lot of our building. It's on a slope so it was a bit more out of control...

Summer tires? I drove the 240 to work Friday morning here in Denton, which was one of the heaviest hit areas and it did pretty damn well, all things considered. Shenanigans were had once I reached the work parking lot though.

You scared me for a second there. I didn't notice that in the pic until you mentioned it. I had to go check the pipe just to be sure. There is no hole. It looks like a dark spot from oil or tar. The downpipe is used though, which is why I got such a good deal on it.

That was a lovely nap. Got a nice 45 minutes of sleep in, then I went to Home Depot and Guitar Center to get stuff for my guitar project in Physics. UGH.

Car's back in the shop again. Sigh.
Why?

I think we need to work on getting rid of that car's bad juju. The only time the 850 ever left me stranded (with no fault of my own) was when the throttle position sensor went bad the first time. Other times it needed work, it was usually my own fault to a degree. Example: The MSD coil dying after 8 or 9 months.

Of course, I did do a lot of preventative maintenance on it just so I could be sure that there wouldn't be any problems. Examples: New t-belt tensioner and rollers despite the fact that the old ones were probably ok.

To be fair, she's never left me stranded either. This car has never even had a single hiccup in how it ran or drove. But now there's white goop on the dipstick, there is still an oil leak, and it smokes from the area between the engine and firewall.

The white goop is indicative of coolant in the oil, which usually means a failed or failing headgasket- which is brand new, along with a freshly machined head that hasn't even been installed a month. So she's back in the shop that did the previous work, since we sprung for a warranty on the work.

We'll see what's going on this time.

White stuff on the dipstick is fairly normal in the winter time, especially if the car is used for only short trips. I'm curious what the shop has to say about it as well.
