It's that time of year again. VCOA Spring 2010 Meet, Texas on March 12-14th, 2010. Event plans are as follows: Friday, March 12: - 7:00 PM - Dinner at The Monument Café - Map HERE. Saturday, March 13: - 9:30 AM - Meet at IKEA Georgetown. They will have $0.99 breakfast in the cafe if you didn't grab any and free coffee until 10:00. We will be in parking area's G and H next to the giant IKEA sign right off the freeway. Map HERE. Make sure you sign in and grab a name badge! - 11:00 AM - Leave IKEA for the cruise to the campsite. Bring your camera's! I will have printed maps that morning. Map HERE. - 12:30 PM - Arrive at Walnut Creek Park. From here, we will grill and have the official show, prizes, and general mingling. There will be food provided, but any donations (monetary/food) would be fantastic! There is a softball field, hiking, and bike trails (all pet friendly) at the park. The picnic site will be covered and shaded, so this is the plan...rain or shine! -Show/Judging Info The show will be peoples choice-based, split into four categories: Classic Volvo (Pre 240), RWD Brick (240-960), FWD Brick (850-X70), P2 (2001+ Models). Each member will receive a ballot at sign-in and will vote for their favorite car in each category. The winner of each category will receive a prize for their accomplishment. There are a few ground rules I must ask while at the park and IKEA, however. There will be ZERO tolerance for reckless driving (this includes burnouts and the like) and no consumption of alcohol. What we do outside of these two area's is your business, but we would like to keep the VCOA name in-tact and positive. Thank you! There is nothing planned after this. I left the schedule open intentionally so that we can decide what we would like to do at the park. Sunday, March 14: - 10:00 AM - Breakfast at Star Seeds Café. Map HERE. Please RSVP if you'd like to attend so we might get a relatively accurate head count for the restaurant. Accommodations: Trip Advisor has some great hotel recommendations. You can decide whether to stay near the park or IKEA. The addresses to these places are provided in the links above. There are at least 2 hotels directly outside of the park. Registration: In order to keep a relatively accurate head count, please RSVP at the following site. RSVP Website. Contacts: Reid Walker @ 817-308-8073 George Dill @ 254-541-2199 Nick Tosie @ 940-368-2818 Discussion thread can be found here: http://forum.texasvolvocrew.com/topic/7250672/1/ Thank you everyone and hope to see you there! |
