In addition to this thread, I also PM'd RD about this. I have ecodes, but no clue how to do the wiring for them. Me+wiring=FAIL. Care to shed some insight?

I don't know if this helps or not, but here is a guide to installing/wiring E-codes on a 240.

They are Volvo. One of the lenses is DJ Auto, but everything else is Volvo.

Oh sweet.

Ok, what route do you want to take?

A) Cut off factory stuff and get it all working

B) Order connectors, go to JY for some harness bits, and then solder it together (that's what I did)

Which one? I recommend B. I'm more than happy to help out, the ordering of the connectors and the JY runs can be handled without my help, but I'm happy to go along to the JY and also do soldering, if I have time.

Since I recommend the B route lets talk about it. Google "buy 9004 headlight connector male" and order 2 of those connectors to plug into your factory harness for the main headlights. Google "buy 9006 connector male" and order 2 of those to plug into your factory harness for the foglights.

Now go and get 2 connectors to plug into the backs of the headlights you bought.. Gotta head to the JY or if you know someone who is parting a 740 or 940.. This doc shows the actual harness connector you'll have to cut out of the engine bay -- HERE It is connector C137 .. You'll want to get both sides, male and female, from the RH shock tower and the LH shock tower, they are between the tower and the firewall--I'm pretty sure there's going to be 2 of these per car, although honestly I can't remember all that well. Shoot, go look at your 944 and see if you have 2 of them, I'll let you know when I look at mine. Anyways.. So with that you'll have the connectors to plug into the backs of your headlights. While you're cutting harnesses, chop off a few of the larger main connectors--try and get a good length on each little wire--because you will re-use these little connectors to wire up the harness, it is super easy, trust me.. Volvo uses little pigtails held together in blocks for their connectors and they're all interchangeable. Remember, just use wire cutters and cut the wires going to the connectors. They are *OLD* and will *NOT* separate easily until you've pulled them out of there, and even then it's going to be hard to do.

So there you go, there's a shopping list. Only stuff left to find is some good heat shrink stuff. We can solder it together and it'll be good to go. I don't think I'm leaving anything out.

Summary parts list:
1) Order 2 male 9004 plugs (lights H/L)
2) Order 2 male 9006 plugs (fogs)
3) Get 2 C137 harness plugs male & female from JY (will only be using the female-pigtail side, so probably don't need the male, easier to just cut and go)
4) Get some good length (6-8 inches should be OK) of fairly heavy wire connectors from a harness (need 8 of them)

After all that the setup will be good as factory..

One last thing--how do the 4 metal mounts look? On mine they were horribly rusted and I replaced all of them I think but one. If they aren't too bad you can probably just re-use them. But if they have any broken-off screws (like mine had >8( ) then you'll have to replace them, obviously. If I remember correctly they're interchangeable w/ the lights you have on already.

Oh and I totally forgot you will need new turn signals. So either shop around for those or order them from FCP.. Go for all-clear or go for clear/yellow, either way you *have to have them*.

I did that. Also got new turn signals. I finished last Thursday, and the difference is INCREDIBLE. It REALLY IS like I have my high beams on! And the high beams are INCREDIBLE!
