February seemed to go by even faster than January and now March is upon us. I hope everyone is doing well. I installed a cheapo version of IPD's sport exhaust for non-turbo 240's last night. The IPD system is basically the 240 turbo exhaust system plus a section of pipe that connects the 2.25" turbo exhaust to the stock exhaust system. Because the stock system was rusted to hell such that the resonator pipe separated from the resonator itself, I felt that now was a convenient time to upgrade. I bought the axle pipe, turbo muffler, clamps, and tailpipe from FCP Groton during their president's day sale and got 15% off, plus free shipping. Total cost for exhaust components from there was $102.93. I then went to O'Reilly's and got a section of 2.25" exhaust pipe and a 2.25" to 2" adapter for ~ $9 or so. I just cut the O'reilly's pipe to size with my HF air cutter and fitted the adapter. It all went together perfectly and at a savings of $120 over IPD, I can't complain. It has a couple tiny leaks, which I will probably get welded up soon, but all things considered, it's not bad. It sounds great. It's a nice deep tone that hints that the car might be modded, but is still very quiet. It's probably about as loud as a typical 850 with the EST or IPD cat-back exhaust system. The next 240 project will be cruise control installation  .

If it's on a weekend, then most likely not. My boss won't work weekends and one of my co-workers is taking his vacation time during spring break. Once I find a more traditional job that doesn't require me to work weekends, I should be able to come to a lot more meets. This job search thing is somewhat depressing at times though. I've probably sent 20 resumes out so far and haven't even gotten an interview yet. |

I'm on the oregon coast right now meeting the gf's fam. It's been nice to get away from town for a while, come home on the 7th. The roads here are crazy, I'm not used to the mountainous terrain and roads. I've never seen so many damn trees at once in my life  Really wish I had my car and take some of these roads, I forget doing 130+ down the freeway is not nearly as fun as doing 50 around mountains. O and I've spotted at least 5 Subaru GC8 (22B body) and it's diving me batty that I can't fricken find one in town. Tons of old school muscle floating around here too, I'm not used to see random muscle just parked at random houses as dailys.

Jan and Feb did fly by...can't believe it's March. I've been soooooo busy at work but not complaining- glad to be back in Dallas and have no gaps in employment. Closing on the new house today. Move in over the weekend. Will be hosting a meet there once I get all settled in. |
